Radio Jakarta's Andhika Faisal, owner of SubStore Koenji in Tokyo, has prepared for us a selection of groovy Indonesian city pop, jazz and even rock tunes from the 1960s up until the present. We’ll hear classics from famous vocalists like Titing Yeni and Farid Bani Adam, experimental gamelan rock from Harry Roesli, and from jazz veteran Indra Lesmana. A wide range of sounds from the vast and musically packed island nation of Indonesia, with much of this music fairly unknown outside the country.
